Reflection of NJASK

           To my surprise the NJASK was amazingly easy. The only thing I can say is that I was well prepared  for the exam and that it had ran smoothly. I feel confident on both subjects and feel as if I over prepared for the big test. The only thing that had boggled me is that they did not tell you which prompt was speculative and which prompt is explanatory.At some times, I had felt a little nervous. Otherwise I think that the  NJASK was a piece of cake.

SUMMER;FINALLY!!!

     It is finally close to summer and everyone is eager to get out of school and leave there work behind for some relaxation. We should all keep in touch,though I may not blogging as often.Those like Wamia and Hadia and Rishika  and many more should keep in touch to keep others informed on great events.

Speculative writing

Prompt:

A boy and a girl are planning a surprise.There project goes well until something goes wrong. Write a story about what went wrong and  how they solved it. 

   Mother's day was approaching quite rapidly and Rosa and Mark did not know what to buy for their sweet mother. She still had thought of everything but it was still too much for their 15 dollar bugdet. Rosa sat on the couch and thought. Suddenly, Mark broke the silence and announced " Why don't we surprise mom by buying  some flowers?" It was so simple,yet special. 

   Rosa and Mark mounted their bikes and rode to Shoprite. They dashed to the flower section and stopped abruptly in their tracks. In  front of them was empty shelves and torn off flower petals."Don't tell me that there are no flowers"Rosa cried with her mouth hung open and in agony. 

  "Maybe Miss Pea has some flowers."Mark responded with a shrug. The two of them biked all the way to their neighbor, Miss Pea's house."Miss Pea!" Mark hollered "do you have any flowers?"he continued.

"Sorry, I didn't grow any this season"she replied. Rosa  went back home and called her grandparents to see if they can bring flowers, but the answer was the same. 

 Mark suggested."We should call Aunt Bree to see if she has any."Mark said sighing

 Rosa snorted"I seriously doubt she'll have any,but it is worth a try." A minute later, Rosa dialed the phone and murmured"Yes,Yes, Thank you,bye!"Her face lit up as grin spread across her face."She has some, she whispered. 

  As Aunt Bea drove into the driveway,Rosa and Mark crowded her van. They were eager to see the broad smile on her face.And they waited for the new upcoming. 

FLOWER CONTEST

  As you can see spring is drawing very near. The trees are budding and the cherry blossoms are a blur of pink when we pass by. The breeze is blowing and finally,FINALLY we can play outside. After being trapped inside forever it is such a relief to get some fresh air.Anyways,I decided to make my blog short and sweet. It will be filled with happy thoughts and pictures just so you will enjoy it.

What does he mean?

As an assignment at school, I will be writing an expository essay on the following quote.  

"Impossible is a word only to be found in the dictionary of fools." (Napoleon Bonaparte)

     It is common to be constantly reminded to never give up. "Impossible is a word only to be found in the dictionary of fools." There Napoleon Bonaparte reminds you once more.The truth of this quote lies in the way you understand it.It means everything is possible and that people who give up are fools. The true meaning that Bonaparte seeks to impart to others will be revealed.

       It has once occured before to me. While I was at the park one day there was a large tree.Many teased and taunted that it must be impossible to climb to the top. Others laughed as I struggled and tried to reach for the next nearest branch. Their discouraging words flew right past me like I didn't hear a thing. Finally after much effort I had made it.This proves that the impossible can be conquered. Again Bonaparte's quote shows much meaning. 

   As an achiever Yu-Na Kim has tried so hard to win the Olympic gold medal. After much practice,competition,sweat and effort she gracefully enters the rink and performs the impossible in front of everyone leaving them expressionless. The competition was hard and nobody thought she had a chance against the others. Yet she was persistent and courageous and proved and achieved the so-called impossible. She now happily possess the gold medal that paid of for all hard work. In another situation,Bonaparte 's quote is displayed. 

         It is shown clearly that "Impossible is a word only to be found in the dictionary of fools."The act of simply giving up before anything can be done, is only an act that a fool would perform. It has been shown and proved every where;the persistence of the India Cricket team in the finals, The confidence in a young  reader's mind-just learning. It has been displayed everywhere. To me impossible means hard to achieve rather than not achievable. Napoleon Bonaparte has told us the constant valuable lesson- never give up.

 

Will there be summer vacation?

Scenario:

Your school has decided to end summer vacations and go to year-round schooling. Write a letter to persuade the school board to make the change or to keep the policy.

Dear Dr.O'Malley,

 Every time that is free is precious time. When authorities enforce the idea of school through out the year,this is true. Such action is not proper due to parents and children point of view. First it is because of vacation and free time.Secondly we will not learn efficiently. Finally it will affect our time in the sun. This should definitely put into consideration before any action occurs.

  Vacation is always something people are looking for.if the school days are distributed,children will not have time to plan a vacation.this is because they will have to miss school,something that parents are not willing to do. The fact of spread school days will likely eliminate most vacations resulting in hard work  and stress. Opposers might say that school days will not be very far apart but studies have shown that most people's vacations last for at least a week and will definitely miss school.  

  You learn when you are constantly reminded my mom always says. When all the students learned something, it is most likely that they will forget by the time they come back for their next school day.  People who don't agree might say that it is possible to recollect memories but after a break most people might tend to forget. 

Playing in the summer sun keeps students healthy and fit. There will be no more of that when school is running during the summer. Summertime is a time when children have fun all day. It would be like trapping students while the sun is shining bright outside and they are stuck in the school watching the beautiful day pass by. Opposers may say that students can play outside another day,but it really is a shame that they cannot play out on that particular day. 

  It is crystal clear that a spread school year will tremendously affect your audience. An expanded year should be considered because of the affect on vacation, deficiency in learning and affect on playtime in the sun. it is not considering your community to implement the new rule of a spread school year. 

The beauty of nature

         How much time do you take to appreciate nature? Is it all about the newest technology device? No one now appreciates the beauty of all nature:the world that once contained wonders worth millions. I look to a day where all nature is rather valued than used to enhance mankind. The factories-polluting our once fresh air. The rain forests-cut for some useless needs and competition. The once fresh fruits now contain  chemical to make them grow to their full potential,these are all harmful to the mother nature that gifted us with its beauty.

    Mankind has grown careless and careless.  We can still survive without the comforts and luxuries. It is my goal to help people appreciate nature and value its beauty. This spring, I would like for all people to plant a tree or plant to restore we have taken from nature. And also remember to...
